You will be responsible for developing applications using C/C++ running on embedded Linux and real time OS. You will be deeply involved in every step of product development and wear many hats as a member of our growing engineering team.</span></div><br><br><h3>Inside the Role</h3><ul><li>Develop and maintain user-space applications for embedded Linux systems.</li><li>Port, configure, and customize Linux kernel and bootloaders (e.g., Yocto, Buildroot, U-Boot, etc.) for ARM or similar architectures.</li><li>Integrate GNSS, cellular modems, CAN, ethernet and other peripherals.</li><li>Design safety critical firmware and create test procedures for software and system validation.</li><li>Port and incorporate third party software stack or module into automotive ECUs.</li></ul><h3>The Must Haves</h3><ul><li>4+ years of experience in firmware development, preferably in automotive or safety critical products</li><li>BS/MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.</li><li>Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills. Ability to contribute to the growth and development of a highly effective software team spanning across multiple embedded disciplines.</li><li>Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals, device tree configuration and user-space development.</li><li>Hands-on experience with Linux builds systems (Yocto, Buildroot, etc.)</li><li>Understanding of IPC mechanisms (e.g. gRPC, ZeroMQ, JSON-RPC).</li><li>Hands-on experience in debugging and diagnostics in real world environments with embedded diagnostics tooling such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, CAN interfaces, JTAG interfaces, PCAN explorer, Vector CANalyzer.</li><li>Knowledge of firmware development process and documentation using GIT, Jira, ClickUp and CI/CD build pipelines.</li><li>Experience in embedded peripheral communication protocols, such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and USART.</li><li>Able to optimize code for limited memory and processing power systems.</li></ul><h3>Bonus Points</h3><ul><li>Moderate knowledge of electrical engineering theory and practice.</li><li>Familiarity with automated firmware testing processes. Coding in Python or other scripting languages for automation or testing.</li><li>Basic knowledge of electric vehicle powertrain architecture, including high voltage system design.</li><li>Knowledge of high-level communication protocols and implementation such as UDS, J1939, XCP, TCP, UDP, MQTT.</li><li>Experience with board bring-up, kernel configuration, and root filesystem setup in embedded Linux systems.</li><li>Understanding of bootloader design and over the air firmware update process in embedded ECUs.</li></ul><h3>Other Requirements</h3><ul><li>Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment.
